National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

April 8th to the 14th

Every year, the second week of April is dedicated to the men and women who serve our communities as public safety communicators. Each call-taker, dispatcher, supervisor, manager, and trainer has an impact on the residents of their community. This year, National Public Safety Telecommunicators week is April 8 -14; while we certainly appreciate each and every one of you every day, this week is the time to formally appreciate and recognize those who provide this service.

The Chief Officers belonging to Verde Valley Fire and EMS Chief’s Association would like to take a moment to recognize and thank the Cottonwood Public Safety Communications Center for their services. Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first and most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services and they contribute substantially to the suppression of fires and treatment of patients. You are also charged with the responsibilities related to the safety of our firefighters. We are all dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from a person who has called 9-1-1 and the effective relaying of pertinent information.

As President of the Verde Valley Fire Chiefs Association and on behalf of all of the agencies your staff provides exemplary service to, it is my honor to officially recognize and appreciate the Public Safety Telecommunication Professionals at Cottonwood Public Safety Communication Center on behalf of all the chiefs and agencies. Keep up the great work and we look forward to the continued pursuit of excellence in all that you and your folks do. We thank you for being the initial first responders and we are glad to have you on our team.
